CFL Provides Great General task Lighting.
However Regarding horticulture or Aquarium
T5HO Linear Pure Phosphorus or CMH HID lamp
(choose the ED-17 to compare to CFL Its smaller and Allot easier to Cool)
ALL CFL Lamps Become Very Inefficient when using Horizontal Reflector setups.
We also found other Issues with The Nlites CFL/Linear Lamps.
NLITE CFL lamps Produced a Layer of Soot of Some sort on the plants and Reflector.
Extremely Poor Manufacturing Quality Control, Resulting in
NLITE CFL/Linear Lamps Showed Multi Color outputs threw out the lamp a poor quality mix of phosphorus and adhesives. (photo below)when all things considered and Hands on results comparing these to CMH lamps Found here
CMH wins hands down every time.
IT is Extremely easy to cool a 150 watt CMH to be warm to the touch.
Don't Get us wrong we like the Purple T5HO and VHO linear lamps as long as a Responsible Manufacture is bringing them to market.
